Do I need a new theme? Or should I just modify this one that I’m currently running? I’ve had an idea to at least replace the heading banner but just don’t have the time to do the work.
Ideas, please!
No more nightly updates

I was very busy with packing for a trip last night, and couldn’t do my nightly update. I gave it some more thought and came to the conclusion that in all likelihood I couldn’t keep it up anyway. So, I’m going to stop calling them “night cap”s and just put a random post on whenever I get a chance – I guess this is no different than before!
Night Cap – December 17, 2008

After buying an espresso machine recently, I thought I was all set for my caffeine fix. But I realized today that the other half of the equation is the grind otherwise you just can’t make good espresso. I got some stuff from a cafe nearby and the difference from the stuff I bought last week is like night and day!

Following my problems with the battery, I bought a new battery and went about installing it. Here are the simple steps (that took me about 45 minutes to complete):
- disconnect the current battery
- unmount the current battery
- mount the new battery
- connect the new one
And now: Car 1 – Khosrow 1
update: here are some links where other people have chronicled similar battery problems they were having.

Night Cap – December 15, 2008

This morning I woke up to the same story as the past few days. Dead car battery, and the cold. And I followed my routine of hooking up the autostarter and giving the car some juice.
Well, it turns out that the problem is just lousy batteries that the manufacturer put in the cars. People are having problems with them at around the same mileage that I have! Anyway, that’s how the day started.
Rest of the day went on as normal (read: boring)
Final act of the day:
note: This was supposed to be posted yesterday, but I forgot to do so.
Technical Difficulties
October 2nd, 2008 — Tags: update
I upgraded WordPress about a month back to version 2.6.2 and since then I’ve had issues. First problem was the upgrade script thought it was a fresh install so it created a new DB instance, and I had to go in change the configuration. And I just realized last week that for some reason my RSS feed generator was not working anymore. I looked into it and found out that all my pages had stopped working as well. So now, I have to do a fresh install of WordPress to fix the issues. In the meantime, the website will be somewhat flaky.
Website port is now finished

I have finally managed to port over my site from the custom code that I had to WordPress engine. I was lucky enough to have put all the content into database previously when I had started to dabble with PHP+MySQL and so it took me no time to transfer it over to this new engine.
The only time consuming work was picking the right user interface and colorscheme for the site! All the sub-pages of the old site still need to be moved over, but the blog is now completely finished.
Great Success!

Oh, and I finally found the runaway tag that was messing up the display of the archive section. Joy!
Tweaking Site

I just found out how to enable PHP and Perl support on the server! So now I’m working on a dynamic version of the site, and that means the content will not be accessible for a while.
